Turkey school holidays vs UK
Turkey has no Christmas break and no October half-term. Schools close in late June, not July. For UK families those three facts together create some of the most consistent pricing gaps of any popular family destination.

No Christmas break
Turkish schools are in full session from mid-December through early January. Christmas week and New Year are not Turkish school holidays. While UK Christmas demand is at its annual peak, Turkish resorts (Antalya, Fethiye, Bodrum) are largely running for international visitors without the domestic Turkish school-holiday crowd. Hotels in late December operate at lower occupancy than August, with prices reflecting it.
No October half-term
Republic Day (29 October) provides a single public holiday, but schools are in full session through October. UK October half-term (25–29 October 2027) is entirely Turkish term time. The Turquoise Coast and Antalya region in late October have ideal temperatures: around 24°C, sea still warm, without the domestic Turkish school crowd.
The June window
Turkish schools close in late June (around 21 June 2027). English schools don't break up until late July. That four-to-five week window is when Antalya, Bodrum and Marmaris are operating at full summer capacity: pools, water parks and excursions all running. Turkish domestic families start arriving from late June, but the UK family surge doesn't hit until after English schools break. Mid-June to mid-July pricing at major Turkish all-inclusives is often 15–25% below the August peak.
Religious holidays
Ramadan Bayram (Eid al-Fitr) in 2027 falls around 9–11 March, a three-day public holiday when domestic Turkish travel peaks briefly. Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bayramı) falls around 17–19 May 2027. Both are short-lived and primarily affect domestic Turkish travel; neither overlaps with UK school breaks.
